My Hair Care Routine

In the morning everyone has their own little routine they’ve figured out to get them ready the fastest while using all the products they love. I of course have figured out my own hair care routine with my favourite products and I’m going to share with you.

Now it depends on what I’m going to do with my hair, whether I’m washing my hair that day (yes, I don’t wash my hair everyday) or deciding on how I’m going to style it, I’ll use different products.

Treatment

Olaplex is life! I’ve written about this treatment in one of my monthly favourites so if you want a full explanation go to February Favourites. I’ve bleached out my hair so I need to take care of it, I do this treatment once a week before I wash my hair. It works best on dirty hair so I throw my head under the sink to dampen my hair, towel dry, brush out and let treatment sit on for a long as I can (minimum is 10 mins).

Shampoo

I usually wash my hair at night before I go to sleep, this has just become a habit from when I was younger from playing baseball. I would have games late at night and would shower after them so I just continued; plus your girl is not a morning person so I’m not waking up extra early for that! I would first rinse out the Olaplex treatment then shampoo using Milk_shake purple shampoo.

Now usually with purple shampoo you wouldn’t use this for every wash but because I want my hair to look purple I use it all the time. If I’m not going to use this, I just use Aussie Moist (which is meh but it’s cheap!).

Conditioner

After washing out the Milk_shake very well because it stays in your hair, I move onto conditioner. Depending on the time of the month I use one of two things. My everyday conditioner is the Aussie Moist conditioner, I don’t leave this in for long at all just enough to make sure I close my cuticle. Once a month I use the Vanilla Bean Deep Conditioner (as seen in March Favourites)

This is suppose to sit in you hair for 10 mins so this happens on a shaving day! I don’t put this on my roots because it makes your hair greasy but it works wonders and it smells great!

Styling Products

After all the shaving and washing has been done I move onto products for styling. Now this depends on what I’m going to do with my hair but I always start with a heat protector which is Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair! (picture 1) With Aveda a little goes a long way, I use roughly a nickle sizes and work it through my hair. This will help protect from the blow dryer, straightener, curling iron, and round brushing.

After that I will add some Aveda Smooth Infusion (picture 2), this is help smooth out my hair, and help fight against humidity.  With this, once again a little goes a long way, so I use about a nickle size and work it through my hair.

Usually at this point I will dry my hair or go to bed with wet hair and I’ll wake up with it dry. Either way the next step is to have dry hair so I can either flat iron it or curl it. Once my hair is flat ironed I will use Aveda’s Light Elements Smoothing Fluid (picture 3) just to help keep everything in line with the fly aways. With this I use around a penny sizes and work it through the ends of my hair first and work my way up. This will prevent the roots looking greasy after you just washed it.

Lastly, I use my flat iron to curl my hair so after that is done I will run my fingers through my hair to break it up and spray my whole head with Aveda Air Control hairspray (picture 4). It smells great and it won’t give you that crunchy feeling.

 [one][two] [three][four]

That’s it! I know this may seem like a lot of product to use on one persons head but you got to protect your hair especially if your styling it as much as I do. If you don’t use any products start with a good heat protector and work your way up!

Lets have great hair!

Aveda Lip Shine – Honeysuckle

I actually got this lip shine a really long time ago and they don’t sell this exact one but they have similar ones. These is great for going out when you don’t want your lips to be dramatic but you want something there! I got these at Aveda for $17.00.

Skin Care Favourite:

face51

Sephora Face Brush

I use this every once in awhile when my face needs a good scrub to get all the dead skin off. It’s not too rough but it gets the job done, sadly Sephora doesn’t sell this exact one anymore but they do have a double ended one now for $19.00! Two for one!

Hair Care Favourite:

aussie-kit-shampoo-condicionador

Aussie Moist Shampoo and Conditioner

I have used this shampoo and conditioner for years now and I still think it is the best everyday shampoo. It’s cheap, it lasts a long time and it smells great. When Target was in Canada you could get it for $3.00, Walmart usually has it for $5.00 and Shoppers Drug Mart has it for $8.00!

Dynamite Lace Peplum with Back Cutouts

I shop this shopping with my sister for my uncles birthday party when I saw this shirt. I fell in love with it right away, tried it on and bought it. You can wear it with or without a bra, it’s comfortable either way and I’m a pretty chesty woman. You can get this at Dynamite for $39.95.

Whole Home Noel Folk Dance Blanket

I could not for the life of me find a picture of this blanket online which tells me they don’t sell it anymore. I would have to wait to see around Christmas time to see if it comes out again.  I got this blanket as a Christmas gift but it’s from Sears. It’s so comfy, it isn’t itchy, it’s light weight but keeps you warm. It’s a great couch blanket as well. I however don’t know how much it cost because I got this blanket two Christmas’ ago.

North Face Venture Jacket

I got this jacket at an outlet mall so it was cheaper than what they would be at a normal store. This jacket is a life saver in the rain, I stayed completely dry in a rain storm with no umbrella. They come in all different colours so there’s one for everyone. Mine was roughly $129.00 at a North Face Store.

Target Canada Closing – My Opinion

Yesterday morning Target Canada announced that they will be closing all 133 stores, leaving 17,000 people without jobs.

From my understanding Target Canada was only open for two years and in my opinion was a lot better than Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart. I use AUSSIE shampoo, from time to time I switch it up and try something new but AUSSIE is my go to brand. At Shoppers Drug Mart my shampoo and conditioner is $8.00 each; at Walmart the same shampoo and conditioner is $5.00 each; and of course at Target Canada the same shampoo and conditioner is $3.00 each (sometimes $2.00).

That’s why I shop at Target Canada.

I’m not saying Target has all the best deals because they don’t, but the things you use everyday and buy a lot more of is cheaper than anywhere else.

From my understanding Target Canada is closing because in the two years they’ve been open they’ve lost billions of dollars and said they wouldn’t make any profit until 2020 if they keep the Canadian stores open. I was quickly reading an article  about this and someone said (I think it was the CEO, I could be wrong) that it was plain and simple, Canada didn’t do what we wanted it to do so they’re being closed down.

That sounds pretty rude to me but it’s just business everyone.

In my opinion Target went at coming to Canada all wrong. They opened 133 stores as fast as they could, instead they should of opened them slowly, maybe one in each major city. In Brampton alone there’s 4-5 I believe and most of them are at malls (which closing the ones in the malls will close them even more money, they said millions just in closing Targets at malls).

Since they did it their way and opened all 133 stores at once and it didn’t work out, I’m wondering why they didn’t do what Sears did and close a couple of stores to save money? Because they’ve decided to close them all at once, leaving us Canadians teased, I think they’ve made a bad name for themselves.

The best part about them closing down is that City Pulse 24 News released that Target Canada was closing before the stores told their employees, leaving some to find out from the news that they no longer have a job. I know this because my sister and a couple of friends are some of the 17,000 people who no longer have a job.

In the end I think Target Canada will be missed by some.
