COVID-19 Layoff: Day Twenty-Eight

What day is it?

Today was a stressful blur. Last night and this morning I had a heart attack over the whole CERB thing. On Twitter and Instagram I saw that you need to reapply every month for the CERB, however Twitter and Instagram weren’t very clear when they posted this and sent everyone into a freenzy. We figured it out for the most part and I was done panicking eventually. For more information about this check out Canada Emergency Respone Benefit orĀ Apply for Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) with CRA

So yesterday I totally forgot to tell my funny dinner story. I made spaghetti and homemade meatballs and it was delicious but I didn’t tell you about raining pasta. When Dave and I have spaghetti we break the uncooked pasta because I have a tongue ring and it gets wrapped around it. I was struggling to break the big bundle I had so I made it into two smaller bundles. I broke one bundle in half but pieces went flying everywhere! Like I was standing in my kitchen that over looks my living room, pieces rained down on Dave sitting on the couch, flew to my dogs bed on the other side of the livingroom and by our jackets hanging up on the other side of the house. We laughed then sure enough I did the exact same thing with the second bundle. EVERYWHERE.
Naturally, I didn’t clean it up because I was lazy then ate way to much pasta. The next morning I walked into the bathroom and felt something stuck to my sock, I tried kicking it off but nothing so I lift up my foot and sure enough pasta was stuck in my sock. Needless to say I vaccumed today only to miss a full size pasta noodle! No idea where that one came from!

Today was pretty much a repeat of yesterday, I played with Drax, waited until he went to nap and played animal crossing. Now my plans are to shower and cuddle Drax in bed, living the dream.

The new Animal Crossing game is actually really fun, they added in A LOT, literally building everything from the ground up. I love it but you definitely need some help on what to do because you end up doing nothing. I’ve been doing well for the most part still it’s work this one, but it’s a good thing! The other one you get bored of fishing to pay off your incredibly high loan.

That’s it for today. I’m going to think of more ideas for this blog since I have another month of COVID layoff.

COVID-19 Layoff: Day Eight

My trial for quarantine is up and I want to return it.

It’s only been a week and one day and I’m bored out of my fucking mind. I honestly didn’t do much today and it makes me sad.

I walked Drax 4 times today, all these walks and not being able to do anything after is making my calves cramp up. With that being said Dave and I decided we actually need to add in a workout to this whole situation, and not to meantion we’re going to get chunky!

I finished my online course and aced my final exam, only got 3 questions wrong! I was just taking a introduction to Mircosoft Word. I know how to use Microsoft but I’m bored and I want to better my skills. I knew most of it but there was also a lot that I learnt at the same time. Short cuts using the keyboard, how to actual write a math equation without using regular text and much more. I signed up for the intermediate class but I’m going to give myself a break from it (even though now I think that’s a bad idea cause I’m BORED).

I read ONE chapter of one of the books I’m reading and all it did was make me sleepy so I stopped, plus I needed to feed Drax and get a move on with something.

That’s it, that’s all. I don’t have anything else to say besides I’M BORED. I’m so over being in quarantine. I want to go back to work and complain about regular things!

I’ll try to make tomorrow more exciting.

Stay tuned for more adventures.

COVID-19 Layoff: Day Seven

Happy Quarantine Day Seven! How is everyone doing? Tell me how your keeping yourself entertained in the comments (located at the top of each blog post).

The highlight of my day was finishing the puzzle! In the morning I was doing dishes and god knows what and Dave was working away, at one point I stood up to see how he was doing and was shocked. He did a lot of work so I said gets just finish it! We worked together and filled it out quickly.

YAY!

The rest of the day was pretty much a right off. Worked on my online class and my code came in for EI but my ROE isn’t on their yet! I’ll check for that tomorrow but I’m pretty much just hanging around and taking Drax on long walks because what else is there to do? Dave and I will have to get another puzzle to make the time go again, a 1000 pieces only took us a week.

That’s it, that’s all. Stay tuned for more exciting adventures!

COVID-19 Layoff: Day Five

Today was a not so good day.

I woke up to snow (ew) then it rained a bit (double ew) and it’s day five.

The morning routine was normal (dog walks and all), had some chocolate chip banana pancakes for breakfast (can you tell that diet is going well?) then I did some online work. However, today was the day that I had to pick up my Record of Employment and trying to figure out what the fuck I do with this paper. I do not understand why the government of Canada makes apply for EI so fucking hard. I also don’t know why they dont teach any of this in schools!

Do you know what I (barely) learnt in school that I haven’t used since I left? “Find X in this equation”, “train A is going 50km/h and train B is going 5km/h, where will they meet?” NOT ONCE! I’m almost 29 years old and I don’t know how to do my taxes yet if we don’t do them we can get in big shit, but godforbid we don’t teach it in school. How does that make sense? But enough ranting about that for today.

Picking up my ROE just made me think about how broke I am and being a millennial, I was already screwed to begin with, and now starting over (yippy).

Enough negativity for today, as promised, pictures of the puzzle we’re working on….

Day Five. Today was a slow day.

That’s all folks, hopefully tomorrow is a better day. Tomorrow is bread day (dough is made but it needs to rise) so I’ll be even fatter!

Stay tuned for more adventures!
