Boscia Charcoal Imperfection Corrector

Ever need a good spot treatment? Boscia Charcoal Imperfection Corrector is the one to get. The charcoal helps dry out the unwanted impurities without irritating the skin. Be sure to not to shake it! The water and treatment need to be separate! I got this at Sephora for $37.

Boscia Cactus Water Moisturizer

One day I was at Sephora I was walking around and I randomly put this moisturizer on the back of my hand, I continued to walk around looking at other products then rubbed my hand. It was so unbelievably soft that I just had to have it. I did the exact same thing to my friend and she fell in love with it as well. This is $50 at Sephora.

Sephora Eye Lash Curler

As I wrote before I comb my lashes before curling them, I curl them with a simple eye lash curler from the Sephora Brand. There’s not much to say about a eye lash curler, it does it’s job and it’s not that bad of the price at $19.00.

Boscia Luminizing Black Charcoal Mask

Recently I’ve been getting into more skin care and masks as my face is losing it’s mind as we get closer to the holidays. I found this one and gave it a try (so did my boyfriend), my skin felt so smooth and soft after. Putting it on is easy, it dries fast and doesn’t hurt to peel it off. I got this at Sephora for $45.

Pramasana Scalp Care

Once again Aveda products are my favourite when it comes to hair care, and to have the best hair care you have to have a healthy scalp. Pramasana is a 3 step at home scalp treatment. Step 1. Exfoliating Scalp Brush, work around in circles on your scalp which helps remove build up. Step 2. Purifying Scalp Cleanser, you can use on dry or wet hair, use like you would shampoo all over the scalp, rinse, shampoo with regular shampoo, condition. This helps cleanse and exfoliates to help balance sebum. Step 3. Protective Scalp Concentrate helps balances sebum levels and helps protect the scalp. After coming out of the shower part clean hair and use dropper, cover head with small drops and massage in. This product helps HUGE when it comes to all scalp issues, unfortunately it doesn’t come cheap, Step 1 is $30, step 2 is $45 and step 3 is $57. If you can’t afford them all separability Aveda salons will have the treatment that they can do for you for roughly $30.

Body Care:

Cool Shower Water

Believe it or not in Canada when it gets super cold everything gets dry; hair, lips, eyes and our skin. I don’t know about other ladies but I myself loves a good hot shower but that doesn’t sit well with my skin. I constantly have to remind myself to not have a boiling hot shower even though it feels good at the moment, I know it will dry my skin out and cool shower water will help that.

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask – Champagne

I actually got this as a sample but loved that it was a lip mask but with some colour! It is thick so your hair will get stuck to it but the colours are great. My sample came with the colours, champagne, natural and smashed. I tried them all and they’re great, the colours aren’t too bright so it’ll go well with everyone. You can get this at Sephora for $30.00.

Tarte – Tarteguard 30 Vegan Sunscreen SPF 30

As most of you know by now I have sensitive skin so I was looking for something that I could put on my face without breaking out. I bought this and decided to give it a try, now I liked it, I didn’t love it. It did the job, my face didn’t get 3rd degree burn, however, my face was still incredible red after spending the day at the beach (and yes I did reapply every 30-45 mins). After not being in the sun (the hour drive home) my face seemed to not be as red but still I thought the burn will show up later. In the end my face wasn’t burn’t! I bought this product at Sephora for $40.00.

Cherry Almond is a softening shampoo and conditioner, it gently cleanses the hair all while maintaining natural lipids and oils. It’s creulty-free, vegan, colour safe and it smells amazing! I’ve used this on muiltple clients and they all love it. You can buy this at any Aveda salon or store for $21.00 for 250 ml.

Ombrelle SPF 30 Lightweight Sunscreen

Beach days are the best but you have to protect yourself from the sun. My Mum had just bought this but I needed sunscreen so she let me take it. Now sunscreen works my friends but you have to reapply it and that’s what I did. When I got there I put it on, sat in the sun for a bit and went in the water, after I got out of the water, I dried off, let the sun dry me out for maybe 2-3mins then I reapplied again. I did this all day, I was at the beach for 4 hours and didn’t get burnt! This product is thick so it works wonders, rub it in good but a little goes along way if you’re putting it on smaller areas. You can get this at Walmart for $20.00.

I couldn’t put it down even after watching the movie and knowing what happens, this is worth a read. You can get this at Chapters for $21.00.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick – Spice

I love finding new lipsticks to try even though I don’t wear it to often, it’s just something good to have around for me; plus when I dress up sometimes I’ll throw a nice lip on. I found Anastasia’s lipstick in the check out line, it came in a mini set of 4 which I fell in love with the spice one! Now I’ve heard that the lipstick ‘flaked’ off but I haven’t had that problem with this. It is matte so it does tend to dry out your lips but I find that happens with all matte lipsticks. You can get this at Sephora for $23.00.

Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel

Our skin constantly changing and it’s a pain in the butt. As most of you know I have dry, sensitive skin so finding products that work for me is a challenge. I once again changed my skin care routine (which a new post is coming!) because my skin changed again. I got this a mini tester almost but I decided to give it a shot since I’ve heard good things from this brand. I love it, it doesn’t irritate my skin, doesn’t dry it out, it’s just perfectly clean. I liked it so much I used the small bottle and now I’m on to the big bottle. You can get this at Sephora for $37.00.

Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing Masque

This is an intense moisturizing masque that uses buriti oil to help put hydration back into the hair. This is a part of Aveda’s Dry Remedy line, they have mulitple lines for different needs. I used this when I was a lifeguard since the chlorine just ruins your hair and now I use it because I bleach my hair. With Aveda a little goes a long way so this bottle will last you a long time. You can get this at Aveda stores or salons for $47.00.

Yup! I’m one of those people! I bought the special edition because why not? My Fitbit was breaking and being weird so I got fed up and bought the new Versa. Now I’m not going to go into great detail because I want to do a review on it (coming soon) but I will say that I love it but at the same time was disappointed. I will explain in my upcoming review! You can get this at Best Buy, Fitbit store, electronic stores near you for $229.95 USD.

Bionaire Ultra Thin Window Fan

Summer is around the corner, well in Canada we actually had a week of summer already, and not having AC sucks! I’ve had this fan for a couple years now and it’s the bomb.com. You can use this fan two ways: 1. Have the fans push the hot air out of your room to outside. 2. Have the fan suck the cold air into your room. How do you do this? Turn the fan around depending on which way you want it. On hot days I set it up to have the hot air sucked out of my room and by the time I come home from work my room isn’t as hot as it would be with nothing. Now it’s not as good at an AC but it works, my room isn’t that big so there’s point to get an AC. You can get this at Walmart for $50.00.

False Eyelashes

The month of November I had two weddings to attend, one of them I was in the wedding party and the other I was just a guest. My sister actually let me borrow this because I wanted a winged liner for a wedding I was going too. I obviously needed to practice this so I started early and loved this product. Aveda Texture Tonic

This is pretty much Aveda’s version of beach wave spray. I like it because it smells good (like all Aveda products) and it doesn’t leave your hair feeling disgusting like some beach wave spray I’ve used in the past. You can use this one wet or dry hair. You can get this at Aveda for $25.00

Shellac Nail Polish

Working at a salon and wearing regular nail polish doesn’t cut it because it litterally will only last a couple hours so I needed something that would cover the colour stains and stay on my nails. I don’t know why I’ve never done Shellac before but I’m in love with it for now. The price changes with where you go so give it a try if you’re like me and never really adentured into the nail world.

Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo

They released this product while I was still in school at Aveda Institute and ended up using it almost everyday. This is a non-aerosol powder mist dry shampoo that smells like the Aveda Shampure smell. Because it’s non-aerosol in order to use it you tip it upside down, bring it back up and lightly squeeze. This product is amazing because I hate the smell of regular dry shampoos and this one doesn’t harm the Earth and it’s atmosphere because it’s non-aerosol. This product is always great for styling your hair, like braids and up-dos. Aveda sells thing product for $39.00.

15 Essentials When Going to a Wedding

Lucky me I get to go to a wedding in less then 2 months and I thought this would be a great thing to write about. Lets get started..

  1. The Dress. Obviously you need a nice dress fit for a wedding! Get a dress that fits the surroundings, if you’re going to a beach wedding, get a dress that flows and bright colour; a church wedding, get a nice fancy dress that still looks amazing; a backyard wedding, I would just get a casual dress and do your hair up nicely, you get my point. Don’t be afraid to reuse a dress from a different wedding because I’m sure as hell doing that. I went to a wedding last year and found a dress that costed $300 but I LOVED it, now I’m going to wear it to this years wedding just changing the shoes.
  2. The Shoes. The shoes need to match with your dress or your accessories. The dress I have is kind of hard to change the colour so my shoes will match my dress. If you’re wearing lets say a red dress, you can play it up with some black accessories. When you’re picking out shoes remember a few things; they need to be comfortable, scratch the bottoms so you don’t slide all over the floor, you need to be able to walk in them, and be age appropriate.
  3. The Clutch/Purse. Now for most ladies this is a must, unless you want to be that girl who carries her cellphone in between her breast. I’m not saying you have to go out and buy a Michael Kors clutch, you can go to way cheaper places and find something just as good or better to fit your liking. Make sure your phone, some money and a camera will fix in there because that’s mostly what you will be holding.
  4. Accessories. I know a purse is a part of this topic but I mostly want to talk about jewelry. It’s a wedding, get some nice earrings, a necklace and a bracelet. Have some fun with it but still look classy.
  5. Make Up. Yay the fun part. Nothing more exciting to us ladies then getting all dressed up and having a good night. Well if you’re a girl like me who wears basic make up, (and I mean basic by mascara and eye liner and that’s it) then you will think make up is stressful. Never fear, basic make up is okay as long as it looks nice for a wedding, if not ask a friend to help you out or go to a make up store and they can show you how to do things!
  6. Hair. This for me is the fun part, I love doing my hair to look nice (since we all know I work in a pool and never get a chance to do it). When doing your hair I would suggest testing it out a few times at home before you do it. Practice makes perfect is a true sentence when it comes to doing your hair.
  7. The Invite. This is important to bring since you probably don’t know where the location is and it will have the address on it! Trust me, bring it and just leave it in the car unless you are told to bring it in.
  8. Money. I know it’s a wedding and everything is pretty much paid for but you never know when you’re going to need some money. Always bring some just in case!
  9. Camera/Cell Phone. Pictures, pictures, pictures. There’s nothing more fun then taking pictures with people at a wedding, it’s a memory you want to remember. But what you need to remember is that it’s someones special day and you don’t want to ruin it.
  10. Charger/Batteries. I know you’re thinking what camera takes actual batteries anymore? I’m talking about those old birds who still use the old camera that use batteries, and besides always bring an extra battery for those modern cameras if it runs out. You can charge the other one while you’re still talking pictures.
  11. Flats. This is mostly for the ladies, even if you did get those comfortable shoes your feet can still hurt by the end of the night or maybe you can’t dance in heels? Either way flats is a good way to fix that. You can bring a pair of TOMS or even a drug store has flats that fit in your purse just for that purpose!
  12. Deodorant. There’s nothing worse then dancing the night away and realizing you’re not fresh anymore! Now don’t fear if you have a car you and always go get fresh air and freshen up. If you don’t then well you will need to keep thing in your purse! A small one is all you need, I keep one in my purse anyways.
  13. Water. I’m not saying bring a huge jug of water to the wedding, I’m talking about those cute, small ones just to keep you hydrated throughout the ceremony.
  14. A smile. I know that sounds stupid but remember these photos are going to be someone memories for life. You don’t want to be standing in a photo with no smile because you don’t like smiling. Think of someone else and plus you probably look better smiling with your teeth anyways!
  15. A Drive Home/DD. This is the most important one, I cannot stress this enough. Please do not drink and drive! You have so many options these days that you do not have to nor should you! You can call a cab, call a friend, have a designated driver, plan for someone to pick you up, bus home if you live close!

Tips on New Shoes!

I have this thing with new shoes, I hate the way they feel not formed to your foot and are most likely uncomfortable no matter what you said in the store. I do this for all heels that I get because yea I don’t wear them a lot and I want to be comfortable!

Make sure the shoe actually fits! Don’t get a shoe a size too small because your feet will swell and then you will have bigger problems, not to mention your feet will kill right off the bat – those poor toes! Don’t get the show a size too big just because that’s all they had! They’re a million shoe stores out there, it might take you awhile but you will find them.

When you do get the shoes work them in. What I mean by working them in is wear them around the house all the time, for at least a month. By the time the wedding comes they will feel like running shoes.

Scratch the bottom of the shoes. I do this all the time so I don’t fall on my face when you get to the hall. They have nice flat floors with no grip! Trust me on this one. All you have to do it go on your driveway and drag your feet around.
