If anyone knows me they know I am a sucker for any movie or book that is based off a true story. I have watched and read my fair share of true stories so here are my favourites of a growing list. (In no particular order)
1.Into the Wild
“After graduating from Emory University, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless abandons his possessions, gives his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhikes to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters that shape his life.”

2. American Sniper
“Navy S.E.A.L. sniper Chris Kyle’s pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield and turns him into a legend. Back home with his family after four tours of duty, however, Chris finds that it is the war he can’t leave behind.”
3. Erin Brockovich
“An unemployed single mother becomes a legal assistant and almost single-handedly brings down a California power company accused of polluting a city’s water supply.”

4. United 93
“A real-time account of the events on United Flight 93, one of the planes hijacked on September 11th, 2001 that crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania when passengers foiled the terrorist plot.”

5. 127 Hours

6. The Big Sick

7. Captain Phillips

8. The Blind Side

8. Remember the Titans

9. The Finest Hours

10. Deepwater Horizon

11. Bronson

12.Zero Dark Thirty

13. 13 Hours
“During an attack on a U.S. compound in Libya, a security team struggles to make sense out of the chaos.”
14. 22 July
“A three-part story of Norway’s worst terrorist attack in which over seventy people were killed. 22 July looks at the disaster itself, the survivors, Norway’s political system and the lawyers who worked on this horrific case.”
15. Brain on Fire

16. Titanic
“A seventeen-year-old aristocrat falls in love with a kind but poor artist aboard the luxurious, ill-fated R.M.S. Titanic.”
17. Only the Brave
