COVID-19 Layoff: Day Twenty

Pay day!

This morning I got woken up early by my lovely dog and decided I’m going to have a quiet morning on the balcony with my homemade Starbucks.

I than checked my bank account to find out that I’ve gotten paid (20 days later!). Today is the start of a good day! I had a quiet day but it was a good day, walked Drax, came back, tidied up my random dirty corner in my bedroom (it’s slowly getting there), then saw that Bethany Hamilton’s documentary was on Netflix so I watched that. 

Dave drove to Markham to pick up 60lb of Drax dog food, once he got home we had to weigh, package and freeze all of it. We have a good system now so the food prep days go by fast. 

Today my best friend and I had a Zoom date because we were suppose to hang out right as the pandemic started so we postponed it which obviously has been awhile and we have lots to chat up on. It was good, we talked for roughly 3 hours! We’re going to keep talking and staying in touch since this whole situation is still going on. 

That’s pretty much it. Feeling better and less stressed now that I finally got paid but hopefully this doesn’t last much longer. Fingers crossed.

COVID-19 Layoff: Day Nineteen

I think I’m going crazy.

Today is my sister’s birthday, happy birthday Caitlin! I made her cupcakes that she came to pick up, and my step mum and I arranged to video chat with her and my dad who lives up North. She was surprised and I hope I had her day as good as I could in this quarantine.

I didn’t do anything today besides clean my kitchen 3 times, make cupcakes, make brownies and laundry. Dog walks were involed of course but I’m sure everyone is sick of hearing about that.

I literally don’t know what to write right now so I’m just going to call it a night.

COVID-19 Layoff: Day Eighteen

Same shit, different day.

Uh what did I do today? Walked Drax of course, made another loaf of bread, cross stitched, watched a movie and cross stitched.

Life is mushing into one big day and it’s driving me crazy. I really need to stop eating bread, so I’m going to stop making it unless it’s for someone else. Tomorrow I weigh myself so we’ll see if the walking and workouts beat out the bread. (Probably not).

I did not workout today. I couldn’t find the motivation and when I messaged my bestfriend who is the queen of working out, she told me, “Sunday’s are for rest days.” It wasn’t much help so I didn’t workout.

Dave and I watched Onward on Disney Plus, it’s so cute! Go watch it if you have Disney Plus. If you don’t have it then what the hell are you doing? Don’t you know we’re in a pandemic? Nothing else to do!

So I have YET to be paid from EI, just as an update. This shit is taking forever and now tomorrow the website is going to be a complete shitshow.

COVID-19 Layoff: Day Seventeen

Whoops! Forgot to write my blog last night and now I’m starting my streak over again.

Yesterday was a weird day for me. For some reason I kept dropping EVERYTHING, I dropped a cucumber, my keys, my phone a 100 times, pototoe peeler and a box of flour which exploded onto my floor. Needless to say I was not having a good day.

Also yesterday I could NOT handle the boredom, I just didn’t know what to do with myself and anything that I tried to do I just wasn’t having it. I tried reading, playing animal crossing, the puzzle, it just wasn’t working. I settled for making a new cross stitch and video chatting my mum. That was a nice catch up for the evening.

For dinner I made baked potatoe soup and because I was just having a fantasic day and it takes a bit to make, by the time it was done I just didn’t want it anymore. I ate it because that’s what I made but it was meh; Dave loved it though, he had two bowls full.

Yesterday was rest day so I didn’t do any workouts and that’s probably for the better, since I probably would have fell over and broken something LOL.

COVID-19 Layoff: Day Sixteen

Talk about a depressing day in the news!

Did anyone watch this mornings news? I watch it every morning then turn it off to avoid our reality. Let me save you the time, Trump is a fucking dick, we’re nowhere near the end of this situation and keep social distancing and washing your damn hands. On to the next day.

Today was workout day, there was also zero motivation. I sat around for a bit trying to get myself motivated to do the workout. I got it done but it wasn’t a good workout. Those days happen though. This morning I did a glute workout which consisted of 20 x 3 elevated glute bridges, 10 x 3 elevated single leg glute raises, 20 x 3 hip thrusts, 10 x 3 single leg thrusts, and10 x 3 single leg Romanian deadlift. Plus a 2 and half kilometer walk with Drax. My ass is going to be sore tomorrow. 

The rest of the day was a write off. Dave wanted to go to Krispy Kreme, we drove all the way there (30min drive) to find out the drive thru line up was 70 cars deep so we turned around to get DQ (that is literally 3 minutes drive from my house). The rest has been a Netflix and Quarantine night. 

For some reason I’m hella tired today so it’s time to wash my hand that has had Olaplex in it all day and go to bed!

COVID-19 Layoff: Day Fifteen

15,000 steps!

15,336 steps to be exact. Literally all I did was walk today! Drax went on 5 walks today so he’s out cold. He’s been such a good boy during this whole pandemic, I thought for sure, “what am I going to do with a 90lb dog?!?” But it’s worked out fine.

Dave wanted to go to the grocery store so we did that. I personally didn’t think we needed that much food but he thought so so we went. Usually we don’t go grocery shopping until out fridge/freezers are empty but you know, pandemic! I guess it’s good to have extra food always in the house.

My afternoon was the picture above! Plus making dinner, brownies and taking Drax on his evening walk (one of the 5 walks). Today was rest day so no workout, that’ll be tomorrow, I’m sure I’ll die especially after beer. 🤦‍♀️

OH Dave and I got some seeds to pant because we’re bored and taking care of our dog is extremely easy so now we’re gonna take care of some plants! I’ll post pictures tomorrow or of when they actually sprout.

COVID-19 Layoff: Day Fourteen

April Fools you can all go to work now!

When you put lotion on your hands and they instantly go red and burn like crazy because they’re so dry. Quarantine life!

This morning Dave had a zoom meeting so I walked Drax and attempted to keep him quiet. After that we walked Drax a BUNCH today. This dog is passed out! Normally he’s all in my face wanting to play. His life is literally eat, walk, shit, sleep, repeat. Living the dog dream.

This morning I worked out and watched Dave struggle to workout (he’s lazy lol) I did side planks, hip thrust, lunges, pushups, lunge pulses, and Russian twists. You do each exercise for 30 secs with minimal breaks in between. After you’ve completed all the exercises you take 2 mins break then repeat 3 times. It’s simple but effective! Plus 13,000 steps later helps.

I cleaned my house again and finally vaccumed so now the floors looks clean again. That’ll only last until tomorrow though because dog life! Not much else was done besides hanging out playing Animal Crossing (the old one, I wish I had the new one but expensive!) And dog walks.

COVID-19 Layoff: Day Twelve

Today was a good-ish day!

I did my usual morning routine with the dog but decided I was going to weight myself and workout. Have you ever heard have Hannah Bower? She’s like my favourite ‘workout person’, she’s gone through the journey herself of gaining weight, health issues and negetive self image. She’s so real it’s refreshing, she shows her family, her parenting style and so much more. She’s just positive and encouraging. She posted all her at home workouts in a story so I found one of those and did it! It was simple but it killed me (I’m hella out of shape); it consits of squats, situps, pushups, side lunges and supermans. Your first rep is 20 of each exercise, then you do 15 of each exercise, then 12, 10, 8 and 5 with minimal breaks in between. My legs are SORE.

My boyfriend misses hockey so much that he is using his NHL game to play computer vs computer just to watch the Leafs play. The man is going crazy. LOL

Not much else happened, besides we found puzzles at the dollarstore cause my awesome friend told me they were there! We got 3, they’re only 500 pieces but it’s something to do! We might set up a puzzle trade with someone because everywhere is sold out of them. Pictures to come!

That’s pretty much it! I actually almost forgot to write this so you know, duh. I’m going to go wash my very dirty hair and go to bed with Drax, he’s the best cuddle buddy.
