Urban Decay Naked Basic Palette

My sister got this at Sephora and gave it to me to practice. I’m not sure this exact one is still at Sephora but they do have other similar ones. It has all the basics you would need for that look you want. This was roughly $38.00.

It’s called the wedding masque because your skin should look as good as it does on your wedding. This over night masque brightens skin, hydrates and makes skin feel firmer over time. It’s light, people testes and cruelty free. You can get this at any Aveda store, salon or concept salon for $85.00.

Sun Bum SPF 30 Sunscreen

I’ve discovered Sun Bum and I’m so glad I did. This is my second favourite sunscreen, close to my first. It smells great, leaves your skin feeling great and it has cool little characters. You can get this at Sports Chek for $17.99.

Walmart Canadiana Comforter

I needed a new comforter but didn’t want something that couldn’t be washes because I have a dog. So it needed to be cheap enough that I wouldn’t mind it getting ruined over time, needs to be machine washable and it needs to be cheap-ish. So I went to Walmart and my boyfriend actually picked this one out and I didn’t mind it. It matches our current sheets so it works and it was only $90.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primerizer

I got this as a mini to start practicing and try out different things when it came to makeup. I have extremely dry skin so I need something moisturizing and this definitely is but me having dry skin it absorbs quickly. I got the mini for $20.00 at Sephora.

Hemp Hard Working Face Protector

This product was suggested when I got another product that could potentially dry out my face and I needed a new cream since my other was making me start to break out. This face cream works wonders, it heavy duty but not heavy on your face, and it helps protect against the elements. I got this at The Body Shop for $14.00.

Smashbox Photo Finish Reduce Redness Primer

I got this as a start primer to my journey of getting into makeup. I do have redness in my face so this was a good start. I don’t like having stuff on my face so getting use to it would be hard but I didn’t find this to be too heavy which is what I liked about it. You can get this at Sephora for mini size $20.00.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil

I know Tea Tree oil has been written about before on my blog but that was awhile ago. I got this because at times my chin will break out and it drives me up the wall. So I went to the body shop to see if they had something for me, the last time I got the stick but this time I got the oil which is more concentrated. It makes them smaller and gets rid of them way faster then just waiting for them to go away with washing my face. I got this at the Body Shop for $13.00 for the small bottle.

Aveda Pure Abundance Volumizing Shampoo

This shampoo is clay based to help fine, limp hair look more voluminous! It works as a pair the shampoo and conditioner so unfortunately you shouldn’t just use the shampoo and a different conditioner because you won’t be getting the full effect. You can get this at any Aveda salon or store for $24.00.

St. Ives Shower Foam

This product for me was a struggle, first off I only ended up buying it because they were out of my normal shower version of this. I used it but I found that I had to use a lot of it in order to feel clean because it’s foam so it disappears fast. Other than that it was good, it’s soft and skin feels great after. You can get this at Walmart for $6.00.

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation

I got this beside I want to get into makeup but I wanted a cheaper foundation but also not bad quality such as shoppers foundation for my sensitive skin. I wanted something that would cover my face but that wouldn’t completely cover my freckles. I tried it in store and had another person try a different brand on my face but I liked this one better. I also hate the feeling of having makeup on my face, this one doesn’t give me that feeling. I got this at Sephora for $52.00.

Caudalie Purifying Mask

I wanted a mask to help my skin from the break outs I was having due to all the chocolate I was eating at Christmas. Online everyone said that this didn’t help the breakouts but their skin felt amazing. For me it was the opposite, it made all my pimples come out then they went away, so things got worse before they got better but that’s life. It smells amazing, as I said leaves your skin feeling great. I got this at Sephora for $47.00.

Aveda Air Control Light Hold Hairspray

This has to be my all time favourite hairspray I’ve ever used. It smells great, it’s a light hold so it doesn’t make your hair crunchy and it lasts a long time. In fact usually the spray button usually needs to be cleaned before you run out of it. I use this for everything, if I straighten my hair I put a little on my hands then “swipe” the top of my head to put those flyaways away, after I curl my hair I spray it, if I need my curl to last even longer then it does I spray before I curl and so on. You can get this at Aveda salons or store for $40.00.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration

I’ve written about this before but for a face cream, the reason I’m writing it for body favourite is because this product you can use all over your body. Lately my body had been super dry so I’ve been putting it on the areas that need the most love, my hands and forearms. I know that sounds weird but it’s because my hands and forearms are constantly in water and they get dried out. I put this on every night and it’s been helping a great deal. I got this at Sephora for $40.00.

Dakota Boot Dryer

If your Canadian and live in Ontario you know we just got beat with 32cm (12.5 inches) of snow in one day. This is fine, I’m Canadian but our boots still get wet and we usually only have one part. My boyfriend works outside in the winter and he bought this boot dryer, it’s the best thing. It’s small, all you have to do in plug it in and let it go to work. I’ve been using this like crazy because my dog wants to go out every two minutes so my boots are absolutely soaked from that and shoveling. You can get these at Marks Works Warehours for $50.00.

Living Proof Healthy + Strong Trial Set Review

As my Sephora makeup interests grows so does my curiosity for hair products. I’m an Aveda trained hair stylist so I know Aveda products, I’ve heard many people use Living Proof hair products and I wanted to try some without buying the big bottles. I saw this little set online at Sephora and decided to order it when I did a big order.

s2074482-main-lhero

This kit cost $24 ($34 value) and it comes with Perfect Hair Day Shampoo and Conidtioner, Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 styling treatment and Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo.

Perfect Hair Day Shampoo

For the shampoo I had mixed emotions about it, some days I loved it and other days I felt like it didn’t clean my hair (that clean feeling you get in the shower) but once I got out and styled my hair it was clean. With this I felt like you needed a lot of shampoo in order to get a good lather even after trying to add water and it made my hair extremely tangly. Over all, it’s an okay shampoo for everyday use. You can get this at Sephora, 60 mL is $16, 236 mL is $36 and 710 mL is $77 (online only).

Perfect Hair Day Conditioner

With the conditioner a little goes a long way especially with my short hair and it not having to go onto my roots. If I did accidently got it on my roots, it made them greasy where as others I would rinse it out and it would be fine. This conditioner is super moisurizing and it helps with the shampoo making my hair tangly. You can get this at Sephora, 60 mL is $16, 236 mL is $36 and 710 mL is $77 (online only).

5-in-1 Styling Treatment

This product claims to be a heat protector, uv protector, helps smooth and condition, provides volume, strength and it polishes. It comes in a little package, it’s a thick cream which you don’t need a lot at all. I didn’t like this product so much,  I found it was heavy for my hair but when it came to straightening it was amazing. However, usually after a couple of days I curl my hair, with this product I couldn’t, it kept it too straight. This is $37 for 118 mL.

Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo

I absolutely love this dry shampoo. Your hair looks cleaner after using it, a little goes a long way and it smells amazing whereas others smell awful. For 53 mL it’s $19 and for 118 mL is $32.

Over all, I think Living Proof is a great brand but I don’t know if the Perfect Hair Day line is for my hair (besides the dry shampoo). They do have other lines that I can try so we won’t jump to conclusions about it just yet.

Let me know in the comments if you used any of these products or any other line by Living Proof!

Sephora Favorites Lashstash To Go Review

I got this Sephora Favorites Lashstash To Go for Christmas as a secret Santa gift and decided I was going to do a review on the products inside.

s2140432-main-lhero

To start, the pack costs $34 for 5 mini versions of the mascaras and it also comes with a voucher to bring back to Sephora to get the full size of your favourite one. It’s a good deal in my opinion, it’s better to be able to try these then get the full version of the one you actually like.

Now lets get started on the reviews.

Lancome Monsieur Waterproof Mascara

This mascara, for the full size, is $32. I’ve never used this brand before so I went in with an open mind but I found this mascara to be awful. It went on chunky, stayed chunky once it was on then it dried extremely hard; so hard that I thought my eye lashes might break off. That being said I didn’t like this mascara.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara

Anyone who has read my blog knows Tarte was my first love at Sephora so with this one I already knew, plus I’ve bought this before. This is a great everyday mascara, it goes on nice, stays nice throughout the day and it’s only $30.

Buxom Mascara Lash

The full size Buxom mascara is $25, I’ve only used Buxom lipstick so once again open minded. I like how long the brush was on this one, I felt like I could do more with it. I felt like the brush fanned out my lashes (what most mascara companies promise you) and that it lasted all day without flaking off.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

For the full size of Too Faced Better Than Sex is $31. I had mixed emotions because I’ve heard so many people say this mascara was amazing so I felt like I had higher expectations. I hated the brush on this one, it’s hour glass shaped and with the stick being so short I felt like I couldn’t do anything with it besides use the end. I did however like how it went on and how my lashes looked after. Maybe if I had the full size it would be better but mini size is a hard no.

Smashbox Super Fan Fanned-Out Mascara

The price of the full size is $24, which surprised me. I’ve never used Smashbox but I was impressed with them! I loved how this went on, it actually fanned out my lashes WITHOUT clumping them together and I think this is because of the brush. It is a more natural look which is perfectly fine for me for an everyday use. I wouldn’t use this for say going out or you could while using false lashes. Needless to say I liked this mascara and was probably my favourite out of the whole pack (and the one I’m probably getting the full size of).

Write in the comments if you used this pack or any of these mascaras and what you think!

Pramasana Scalp Care

Once again Aveda products are my favourite when it comes to hair care, and to have the best hair care you have to have a healthy scalp. Pramasana is a 3 step at home scalp treatment. Step 1. Exfoliating Scalp Brush, work around in circles on your scalp which helps remove build up. Step 2. Purifying Scalp Cleanser, you can use on dry or wet hair, use like you would shampoo all over the scalp, rinse, shampoo with regular shampoo, condition. This helps cleanse and exfoliates to help balance sebum. Step 3. Protective Scalp Concentrate helps balances sebum levels and helps protect the scalp. After coming out of the shower part clean hair and use dropper, cover head with small drops and massage in. This product helps HUGE when it comes to all scalp issues, unfortunately it doesn’t come cheap, Step 1 is $30, step 2 is $45 and step 3 is $57. If you can’t afford them all separability Aveda salons will have the treatment that they can do for you for roughly $30.

Body Care:

Cool Shower Water

Believe it or not in Canada when it gets super cold everything gets dry; hair, lips, eyes and our skin. I don’t know about other ladies but I myself loves a good hot shower but that doesn’t sit well with my skin. I constantly have to remind myself to not have a boiling hot shower even though it feels good at the moment, I know it will dry my skin out and cool shower water will help that.

I got this awhile ago and used it pretty much everyday but now I don’t use it as much but it still lasts you a long time! I fell in love with First Aid Beauty after I got the cream in a Sephora Favourites kit and decided to try the lip repair because Winter is fast approaching in Canada which makes everything dry. I was impressed with it in with it moisturizing my lips but it doesn’t last as long as a regular Chapstick would. It tube itself lasts a long time because its thick and you don’t need a lot. Olaplex Shampoo and Conditioner

As you all know I’ve written about Olaplex before, you can see the first part that I wrote in my February Favourites 2018. Well Olaplex has now come out with steps No. 4 and No. 5. The No. 4 is the Shampoo, you can use this as an everyday shampoo or you can save it for when you do step No. 3. The shampoo helps repair, strengthen and hydrate all types of hair while cleaning it at the same time. No. 5 is the conditioner, it also repairs, strengthens and hydrates all types of hair while adding shine. The conditioner is extremely thick so I wouldn’t recommend putting it on your roots or they make get greasy. You can get this at any store or salon that sells such products for $28-$30.
