Quo Brow and Lash Brush/Comb

I got this brush to help comb my lashes to make sure they’re straight before curling them and to brush my brows so they’re not crazy. It’s a small step butmajor steps, there’s nothing worse then waking up looking crazy so this simple brush/comb helps that. I got this at Shoppers Drug Mart for $14 a long time ago so the prices may be different now.

Aveda Tulasara Wedding Masque

You all know that I love Aveda products and this wedding masque is something else. Find an Aveda store near you and rub this product onto the back of one hand then compare your hands, I can guarentee you you’ll see the difference in your hands. You have to see it to believe it. Once you try it comment below what you thought. You can get this at Aveda salon and stores for $85

Aveda Speed of Light Blow Dry Accelerator

This is new to Aveda and we’re obsessed. Speed of Light is a detangler, heat protector, reduces breakage and it blow dries your hair faster. Now if you have fine hair your hair will dry fast already and if you have a lot (I’m talking log size pony tail) it will take awhile to dry your hair. You can get this at Aveda salons and stores for $42.

Belted Wool Coat

I’ve been looking for a wool coat like this for awhile and finally found it on Dynamite so I just had to buy it. It’s a great jacket for in between weather in Canada (between Fall and Winter or Winter to Spring). I got this at Dynamite for $120.

Shhhowercap

I have previously bought a cheap shower cap and loved it but as cheap is, it doesn’t last long. It started to get loose and the water was getting in so I had to get a new one since I don’t wash my everyday. I found this one at Sephora and decided to spend the money to try it out, money well spent. I love this showercap and it’s still tight and stays on my head. You can get this online at Sephora for $54

Dior Liquid Eyeliner – Black

I was so use to using a pencil eyeliner but I wanted to move on to bigger and better things when it came to eyeliner. I decided to give Dior a try since I already love their mascara so much, boy was I right! For a first time user it was pretty easy to hold and get the hang of it! I got this at Sephora for $45.00.

Quo Dual Ended Blackhead Remover

Don’t you just love popping zits or blackheads with your fingers? Yep, we all do but it’s actually bad for your skin. Quo from Shoppers Drug Mart has a tool that’ll do it for you without harming your skin or pushing more bacteria into your face (assuming you clean your tools)!

Hair Care Favourite:

silver-shine-shampoo-300mlMilk_Shake Silver Shine Shampoo

Ever since I became a blonde (almost white) I’ve needed a purple shampoo to help keep it blonde! Silver Shine is a purple shampoo, for those of you who don’t know what a purple shampoo is, I will explain!
When you lift your hair (bleach and tone, highlights, balayage) there is a natural remaining pigment. If your hair is black, dark brown, medium brown, or light brown when you lift your hair it will lift red. If your hair is a dark blonde, medium blonde or light blonde it will lift red/orange, orange, and yellow/orange. Now if your hair is very light or almost white your hair lifted to yellow and pale yellow, which brings you to where my hair was before we toned it – yellow. To get rid of the yellow your toner will have to have violet in it (ash). Now sorry to break it to you but toner FADES, no matter what a hairstylist tells you it will fade, unless you buy shampoo that will help it. I’ve toned my hair once and used this purple shampoo (to keep yellow away) and it works wonders but I will have to tone my hair soon because it only does so much. You can get this at Trade Secrets for $28.00.

The North Face Agave Full Zip Fleece

I have The North Face basic rain jacket, that means its just the outer shall and it’s not exactly the warmest for Canadian weather so I got this to go under it! It’s a mid-light fleece, so it’s not their heaviest but not their lightest either. You can get this at The North Face for $130.00.

Free Spirit Treadmill

This is more a love-hate relationship but I am a lucky woman who gets to have a treadmill at her home so I don’t have to go to the gym…yet. Mine is very old but it works! Now I’m not saying you need to go out and buy a treadmill I’m just saying get up and MOVE!

False Eyelashes

The month of November I had two weddings to attend, one of them I was in the wedding party and the other I was just a guest. For both weddings though I decided that I wanted to have a nice face of makeup and some false eyelashes to go with it. I have a new love for eye lashes, I would totally get them done but I work in a pool and they would be ruined!

tarte maracuja lip exfoliant

I know I’ve written about this before but here in Canada it’s starting to get into those cold months and that means dry skin. I can already tell that I’ve using my chapstick a lot more then normal and that also comes with a lip exfoliant. This helps a great deal when you have chapped lips but you don’t want to have “ugly” lips, use this once a week with whatever lip balm you prefer and you’ll be fine! I got this at Sephora for $21.00.

Skin Care Favourite:

Dove Go Fresh Burst Anti-Perspirant

I know I’ve written about a different smell of this antiperspirant but I recently ran out and when I went to the store they didn’t have the one I normal use so I picked this one going off by the way it smells. I love it better than my old one, the smell it stronger, it smells amazing, and of course it works just as well. This time I got this at Walmart for $2.97.

Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid

As you all know I love Aveda products because of the smell and because they actually work. This smoothing fluid is great when it comes to smoothing down fly aways, refreshing that “poofy” hair that some of us get and so much more with actually styling your hair. I got this at Aveda stores for $37.00.

I use this every once in awhile when my face needs a good scrub to get all the dead skin off. It’s not too rough but it gets the job done, sadly Sephora doesn’t sell this exact one anymore but they do have a double ended one now for $19.00! Two for one!

Hair Care Favourite:

Aussie Moist Shampoo and Conditioner

I have used this shampoo and conditioner for years now and I still think it is the best everyday shampoo. It’s cheap, it lasts a long time and it smells great. When Target was in Canada you could get it for $3.00, Walmart usually has it for $5.00 and Shoppers Drug Mart has it for $8.00!

I shop this shopping with my sister for my uncles birthday party when I saw this shirt. I fell in love with it right away, tried it on and bought it. You can wear it with or without a bra, it’s comfortable either way and I’m a pretty chesty woman. You can get this at Dynamite for $39.95.

Whole Home Noel Folk Dance Blanket

I could not for the life of me find a picture of this blanket online which tells me they don’t sell it anymore. I would have to wait to see around Christmas time to see if it comes out again.  I got this blanket as a Christmas gift but it’s from Sears. It’s so comfy, it isn’t itchy, it’s light weight but keeps you warm. It’s a great couch blanket as well. I however don’t know how much it cost because I got this blanket two Christmas’ ago.

I got this jacket at an outlet mall so it was cheaper than what they would be at a normal store. This jacket is a life saver in the rain, I stayed completely dry in a rain storm with no umbrella. They come in all different colours so there’s one for everyone. Mine was roughly $129.00 at a North Face Store.

May Favourites 2015!

Makeup Favourite:

Lancome Bi-Facil-Double Action Eye Makeup Remover

When I sent out that Facebook post asking all my lady friends what’s the best makeup remover my mum saw it and that’s when she gave me the Clinque sample in my March Favourites. Well my Mum’s best friend saw the post as well and gave my Mum her sample bottle for me to try. The Lancome Bi-Facil makeup remover is one of my favourites (tied with the Clinque one). They are honestly both great products. I find the Lancome makeup remover hurts my eyes a bit but it gets more of the makeup off, it has also lasted a little bit longer than other but not by much. You can get this product in a lot of stores, Sears, The Bay, Shoppers Drug Mart and of course Sephora for roughly $36.00.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths

This was the product I had in mind when I was looking for a new face wipe since Target closed down. This product is great, like the entire Cetaphil line is, it really is gentle, refreshing, and doesn’t make your face red when you use it; it also comes in two sizes! They have a small travel pack (10 cloths) that you can put in your purse or beach bag, and they have a big pack (25 cloths) that you would leave at home. The only problem with these is they’re impossible to find! I’ve been using them for about 2-3 weeks now because they’re hard to find but I’m impressed with them. I kept going back to the store to see if they had them but they didn’t, then I went to the travel section and bought 3 travel sizes ones. I absolutely love Cetaphil products! You can get these bad boys at Shoppers Drug Mart for $5.00-$7.00.

Hair Care Favourite:

Sephora-Ombre-Ribbon-Hair-Ties-in-AmethystSephora Ribbon Hair Ties

Every girl tries to find that one hair tie that doesn’t leave that dreadful lump on the back of their hair. Well I think we have found it ladies (and gents). I bought one just to try it out and I fell in love with it. They last a long time and don’t fade in colour or get stretched out fast. You can get an 8 pack in different colours at Sephora for $11.50.

I was looking online to see what would help with chlorine burn, vitamin C helps get rid of it but vitamin E helps restore your skin. I love St.Ives body wash so I got this lotion. This works so well, my chlorine burn was gone and my skin felt great. I got this at Shoppers Drug Mart for $4.00-$5.00.

I know this seems like a “what the heck” moment but my agenda is a life savers! I never used it in school but with adulthood you kind of need one. You can get your agenda at Chapters for roughtly $12.00-$22.00.

Target Canada Closing – My Opinion

Yesterday morning Target Canada announced that they will be closing all 133 stores, leaving 17,000 people without jobs.

From my understanding Target Canada was only open for two years and in my opinion was a lot better than Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart. I use AUSSIE shampoo, from time to time I switch it up and try something new but AUSSIE is my go to brand. At Shoppers Drug Mart my shampoo and conditioner is $8.00 each; at Walmart the same shampoo and conditioner is $5.00 each; and of course at Target Canada the same shampoo and conditioner is $3.00 each (sometimes $2.00).

That’s why I shop at Target Canada.

I’m not saying Target has all the best deals because they don’t, but the things you use everyday and buy a lot more of is cheaper than anywhere else.

From my understanding Target Canada is closing because in the two years they’ve been open they’ve lost billions of dollars and said they wouldn’t make any profit until 2020 if they keep the Canadian stores open. I was quickly reading an article  about this and someone said (I think it was the CEO, I could be wrong) that it was plain and simple, Canada didn’t do what we wanted it to do so they’re being closed down.

That sounds pretty rude to me but it’s just business everyone.

In my opinion Target went at coming to Canada all wrong. They opened 133 stores as fast as they could, instead they should of opened them slowly, maybe one in each major city. In Brampton alone there’s 4-5 I believe and most of them are at malls (which closing the ones in the malls will close them even more money, they said millions just in closing Targets at malls).

Since they did it their way and opened all 133 stores at once and it didn’t work out, I’m wondering why they didn’t do what Sears did and close a couple of stores to save money? Because they’ve decided to close them all at once, leaving us Canadians teased, I think they’ve made a bad name for themselves.

The best part about them closing down is that City Pulse 24 News released that Target Canada was closing before the stores told their employees, leaving some to find out from the news that they no longer have a job. I know this because my sister and a couple of friends are some of the 17,000 people who no longer have a job.

In the end I think Target Canada will be missed by some.
