COVID-19 Layoff: Day Fourteen

April Fools you can all go to work now!

When you put lotion on your hands and they instantly go red and burn like crazy because they’re so dry. Quarantine life!

This morning Dave had a zoom meeting so I walked Drax and attempted to keep him quiet. After that we walked Drax a BUNCH today. This dog is passed out! Normally he’s all in my face wanting to play. His life is literally eat, walk, shit, sleep, repeat. Living the dog dream.

This morning I worked out and watched Dave struggle to workout (he’s lazy lol) I did side planks, hip thrust, lunges, pushups, lunge pulses, and Russian twists. You do each exercise for 30 secs with minimal breaks in between. After you’ve completed all the exercises you take 2 mins break then repeat 3 times. It’s simple but effective! Plus 13,000 steps later helps.

I cleaned my house again and finally vaccumed so now the floors looks clean again. That’ll only last until tomorrow though because dog life! Not much else was done besides hanging out playing Animal Crossing (the old one, I wish I had the new one but expensive!) And dog walks.

COVID-19 Layoff: Day Five

Today was a not so good day.

I woke up to snow (ew) then it rained a bit (double ew) and it’s day five.

The morning routine was normal (dog walks and all), had some chocolate chip banana pancakes for breakfast (can you tell that diet is going well?) then I did some online work. However, today was the day that I had to pick up my Record of Employment and trying to figure out what the fuck I do with this paper. I do not understand why the government of Canada makes apply for EI so fucking hard. I also don’t know why they dont teach any of this in schools!

Do you know what I (barely) learnt in school that I haven’t used since I left? “Find X in this equation”, “train A is going 50km/h and train B is going 5km/h, where will they meet?” NOT ONCE! I’m almost 29 years old and I don’t know how to do my taxes yet if we don’t do them we can get in big shit, but godforbid we don’t teach it in school. How does that make sense? But enough ranting about that for today.

Picking up my ROE just made me think about how broke I am and being a millennial, I was already screwed to begin with, and now starting over (yippy).

Enough negativity for today, as promised, pictures of the puzzle we’re working on….

Day Five. Today was a slow day.

That’s all folks, hopefully tomorrow is a better day. Tomorrow is bread day (dough is made but it needs to rise) so I’ll be even fatter!

Stay tuned for more adventures!

COVID-19 Layoff: Day Three

Dog walk, puzzle and cross stitch, repeat.

If it wasn’t for those three things I would be going insane (too late)! My day started off with me being in an grumpy-ish mood and progress into more grumpy, just one of those days.

Not much happened today, Dave and I have been KILLING it at our puzzle (photos to come later), dog walks are a must and I discovered cross stitch (thanks to my neighbour Amanda, the same person who dropped off the delicious bread). I don’t know why I was so dumb when reading the instructions so I messaged her and she came to the rescue to show me. I’m absolutely obsessed and now want to look up designs and create them! Stay tuned for that!

That’s pretty much it, drinks have started and we continue to cross stitch the night away.

Stay tuned for more fun adventures.
