Gymshark Leggings

For years I have tried to find leggings that don’t fall when I simply walk let alone run or do anything else! I’ve tried Lulelemon, underarmour, creap walmart leggings and nothing. Everytime I’d buy them they would be super tight but once I started to move they would fall, it was the most annoying thing. I saw Gymshark from YouTubers that I follow and loved how they looked so I decided to grab a pair along with some other small things. Once I got them and tried them on I wasn’t so sure because they were tight but I gave them a try. That day I decided to run the stairs in my apartment just to get a quick workout in and test them. I didn’t have to pull the leggings up once, it was amazing! They’re actually so comfortable and look great. You can get them at Gymsharks website, they were $90 but they’re so worth it!

MASK CANADA

In June I offically went back to work but only had 2 masks to wear that my boss provided. Wearing the same two masks for a week straight wasn’t going to be fun or clean so I decided to order more of the masks. They’re pretty comfortble and fit most, I did have to sew mine to make it fit better but they fit perfectly. I liked this company because it’s Canadian, they shipped within the week and they’re good quality. I recently just ordered Christmas masks since masks aren’t going away so I might as well get festive! Usually each mask is $15 or they have a pack of 3 for $45 (which they always have a sale!)

COVID-19 Layoff: The End

Well this will officially be my last COVID blog as my personal quarentine is finished.

As most of you know if you follow, my place of work officially opened on Friday June 19th. I was nervous building up to the day because of the obvious virus going around but also I didn’t do hair for 3 months. Now I was getting thrown back into it all while the world seemed like it was ending.

Friday morning I had time to get ready, walk Drax and attempt to play with him. As soon as I started to get ready Drax knew I was going back, he went right to his crate and sat in there until I attempted to get him out with cookies. I had to move his crate into the livingroom because that’s where the AC is, once I got him out he went to his bed and just gave me those puppy eyes. I played with him but he just wanted me to hold his head. I had to move and when I turned around he was back in his crate – needless to say I left because he clearly wanted to be in the crate and I didn’t want to make things worse.

I got to work earlier because I wanted to clean my station and my tools one more time before I started work for the day. I sat in the back for ten mintues avoiding putting on the mask. Eventually I sucked it up and put it on, at first it was weird then eventually you got use to it being on your face. The masks however are hot as hell, talking is hard but everyone wants to talk at the salon so I did but eventually I was getting too hot so my hair went up and talking went to a minimum. The first day I ran an hour behind because my last client had a lot of hair and wasn’t booked for the right service but it all workout.

Saturday was a bit better, it was still a busy day but everyone was getting in the grove of things. I was on time for most of my clients, last one only ran 5 mins behind but I made up the time later. All in all it was a good start but still creepy because in the back of your head you know there’s a possibility of being exposed even though we are taking those precautions.

After those first two days I’ve never been so sore in my life. It was all the areas that I haven’t been using during the quarentine like standing for 8 hours so my feet, legs and back were sore. I can home iced my knee and got Dave to massage my back and feet (after I showered) which helped big time (he’s a keeper). Now were back to work on Tuesday for a full week.

It’s still crazy to think that this is going on in the world, who would have thought but we’re getting through it and staying safe. Everyone wash your hands, wear a mask and stay home if you are not feeling well.

COVID-19 Layoff: Day Ninety-Two

Happy 3 months and my last day in quarentine!

Today wasn’t very eventful to be honest. Drax and I hung out in the morning, got a couple walks in before it got too hot then hung out. Once Drax decided to nap I worked out, made lunch, got things ready for work tomorrow and watched some tv.

I didn’t feel like going out today, I just wanted it to be calm before the storm. I’m sure I won’t sleep tonight because that’s just how I am but at the same time I will probably take allergy medicine and that will knock me out. My allergies tend to be the worst at night and in the morning, the rest of the day I’m fine, just a couple sneezes here and there.

Now that I’m back at work I’m gonna need to figure out how I’m going to get my workout in. My hours are all over the place so my eating pattern will change and working out will have to change too. It will take time but I will figure it out.

I may write tomorrow about my first day or I may just finish the week off and end it at that, either way I can’t believe it’s been 3 whole months and we’re still going through a pandemic.

Life Happens When You’re Busy Making Other Plans

HEY everyone, missing MIA blog girl here. I’m here to explain why I haven’t written a blog post in a very long time.

Reason No. 1 I bought a car! This was months of searching and testing and I finally bought one, Kia Optima! It’s amazing and the freedom is great but bills are not.

Reason No. 2 I (sorta) moved in with my boyfriend, so for awhile I didn’t have my laptop (not to mention my laptop broke for awhile) and I’ve been busy making dinner, working and cleaning.

Reason No. 3 Work, work, work, work, work! In my line of work the closer you get to Christmas and New Years Eve the crazier work gets and that’s exactly what happened in my life.

Reason No. 4 My boyfriend and I got a puppy! His name is Drax and he’s the cutest little monster.

He is currently 5 months and 45lbs, he’s going to be huge but he’s a big cuddle monster and power chewer that takes up all my time.

1. How to get a credit card without ruining your credit. (I do not have one, I do not want to be broke but I need one soon!)
2. How to do my taxes. (I still don’t know how, my mum doesn’t them for me.)
3. How to pay your taxes! (I’m 22 and had to pay taxes for the first time tonight!)
4. How to wash your clothes without ruining them. (I learnt a long time ago but I know some people who have no idea!)

8. Figure out what you want to do in life. (Sure you do some stupid test at what you would be good at but they never once helped my take the right courses to at least one goal.)

12. How to do well in interviews.
13. How to rent a car, book a flight or a hotel.
14. How to cook. (I’m pretty sure back in the day my parents HAD to take a cooking class.)

Super Bowl Weekend!

My life has be kind of almost extremely busy the last couple of days, so let me tell you all about it.

Thursday: Pretty much my whole week was crazy because a bunch of things at work started and I covered for people so it just seemed crazy. But Thursday was one of my actual shift and when I was there I thought it would be an easy going type of day, I thought wrong! It started out okay, everyone was on time and things were going well. I told all my staff I wasn’t going into the water unless it was really important because my face was burning so much from the day before. On Wednesday I was craving for a slushy so bad but the snack bar wasn’t open, Thursday it was and I was so happy I was just waiting for the crowd to go down. While I was waiting I was trying to figure out why half the stuff in my office wasn’t working, I did figure out that the plugs under the table were broken. I told maintenance that they weren’t working and it wasn’t a rush to come fix it, when they did finally come in, they walked a pretty stupid walk to tell me to hit the reset button like on your blow dryer. You have to know that at this rec centre nothing works, something is always breaking and it’s always something big, how was I suppose to know that it was that? I finally went to the snack bar to find out that her till wasn’t working, and she asked me to come behind the counter to try to make it work. First of all the damn money drawer wouldn’t open, so I go it to open finally but it wouldn’t close and pop open when someone pays. Before I got it open this pour girl had the money on the floor, she was happy I came. I told the front desk to go help her which they did. Now I got to go home to wait til 7 am for my boyfriend to finish work!

Friday: 7 am finally came, my boyfriend picked me up, as I open the car door I smacked myself in the face. I hit pretty much my cheek bone but under my eye, my boyfriend thought for sure I was going to get a black eye but I didn’t. This day we pretty much did nothing but sleep the whole day, this is what happens when you don’t have a lot of sleep and your boyfriend works midnights.

Saturday: Saturday morning was like anymore and the whole day was pretty much like any day. I woke up before my boyfriend, went pee, turned the frog lights on, watered our chameleon then sat in bed waiting for snore man to wake up. Honestly I can’t remember what we did this day, i think we sat around, got high and ate. We did however watch the leafs kick ass! Kessel got a hat trick and they won, it was amazing. I went to bed early because we were going to the reptile expo!

Sunday: Sunday morning was not like any other day, my boyfriends alarm went off at I don’t know what time but it felt early. He turned it off and went back to sleep, where as I was wide awake and couldn’t fall back asleep. I turn over to ask him if we were going to the expo because of course living in Canada it snowed a lot. He said yes, we got up and got dressed and were on our way to the bank. The reptile expo was in downsview park this time which was kinda of cool, it mostly had frogs, and snakes. There was one giant spider that scared the shit out of me because I wasn’t expecting it to be that big! We walked around the whole place to see what was there then decided on what my boyfriend wanted. I didn’t get anything for my boyfriend’s birthday and he asked me if I would buy him a frog, we went to the place called Dart Frog Inc. They had the ones he wanted which are really cute, so we pulled out our money and went for it – we ended up getting two as a pair.

This is a close up picture but they are really small, about a little bit bigger then your finger nail. I cannot for the life of me remember what they are actually called but I will get back to you on that, if anyone really wants to know. I can’t even remember what we named them but I know we named them after football players since we got them on the super bowl day.

We came home to people at the house, things were starting to get ready for the party. There was a banner made that said “Go Broncos, Fuck the Seahawks.” Which was made by the biggest douche bag fan of the Broncos, I’ll get into that a little bit later. Now I don’t even get football really, I know the point and you know the basics but other then that I have no idea. All the other people that were at this party new everything and I mean everything about football. At the start there was a paper that you had to fill out for a draw. I pretty much straight up guessed because I had no idea, at the end someone gets the money whoever go the most correct. The questions were like, “Is the coin toss going to be heads or tails?”, “Will Bruno Mars be wearing a hat?” and so on. At one point I was actually beating my boyfriend which I was so happy about. While the game was on it was so loud but was so much fun, everyone was yelling, laughing, drinking and having a great time except for one guy.

The one guy at the party was so upset that the Broncos were losing and my boyfriend was on his ass about it that he cried twice! This guy was talking shit for days and even at the party was talking so much shit, that everyone didn’t really care until he started to cry. He was getting so mad at my boyfriend but that’s just the way he is, I wouldn’t date my boyfriend if I could hack it that’s for sure. This guy was also very drunk that we needed to cut him off, at the end of the party he wouldn’t say bye to me because of who I’m dating. After though he tried to say goodbye and I said no to him and that he should leave.

The rest of the night went well though, I played beer pong with my boyfriend and his friends. We beat them and I got the winning ball, was so happy about that since I don’t really play beer pong, I’ve always gone to bars and not house parties.

Yes my boyfriend and I are wearing Miami Dolphin jerseys, he loves them and we wanted to wear something football.

As the game ended and people left it was getting quiet but my head was killing me from everyone being so loud, it didn’t help I was on the main couch and my boyfriend is the loudest guy I know. It was maybe about 11pm and I said that I was going to go upstairs to lay down for a bit, I needed darkness and peace and quiet. I did go upstairs, got naked, turned off the lights, and slept…or attempted too. It took me a couple hours to fall asleep or until my boyfriend came to bed. Can never sleep without that man.

Anyways, the night was amazing and I can’t wait until next year but hopefully by then I will know the game like I know baseball.

Canadian Eh?

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but it’s fucking cold in Canada! Literally the other day it was so nice out, just a light snow covering, the next day it was cold and windy that was about it, by night time it was a full on blizzard with -30 weather. My boyfriend had to drive me home last night in the middle of the storm because I had to work this morning! It took the car 30 mins to warm up and he was scrapping the car for 10-15 mins to try and get the ice off; which was not working. The roads are completely covered in snow still, it’s still -30, windy as hell, and everyone is experiencing ice quakes or frost quakes. 

For those of you who didn’t know what a ice/frost quake was (which is okay cause neither did I), they are when it is so cold that the water on the ground or anywhere really expands and makes a very loud boom. It honestly sounds like gun shots going off, that’s how loud it is, apparently they were going off all over the GTA and people could hear it from miles away. These happened last night but it sounded like it was coming from the roof of my apartment, which is possible since it’s flat and there could be water or ice up there. 

It was so cold outside that everyone was saying that you should stay in doors if you can and only go outside if you really need too. Cab companies were not working today, schools were cancelled and even a NHL hockey game was cancelled because of the weather. Also they were saying if you were outside with exposed skin you could get frostbite in 5 mins – this is why my boyfriend picked me up from work since it’s a 15 min walk home. Everyone in Canada should have ski/snowboarding goggles so they can cover their eyes and still see when it is this cold, we all may look like idiots but it would be worth the warmth.

I haven’t really been around lately because everything has been so busy. I’ve been working my butt off, dealing with my boyfriend’s chameleon, Christmas shopping, Christmas tree and Xbox one came out this week. I have stories for all of them and I will catch you up! 

There’s nothing much to say about work, it’s work, it’s boring and stupid. I’ve already talked about the chameleon so if you missed out on that look at the post before this one! 

Now Christmas shopping! I finally went a got some more shopping completed, I’m not completely finished but maybe if I go one more time and I will be done but I’m going to have to focus and just rack up the bills to pay for all of this. I have most of my family done, I have like half things done which is actually so annoying but it’ll do. The only problem is I still have my boyfriend to buy for and I have no idea what I want to actually get him. I have ideas but they all turn out to be clothes and I feel like that is completely lame. I also need to start thinking of what to get him for his birthday! I hate that his birthday is right after Christmas and the same week as valentines day. Anyways, I’ve wrapped like two gifts – only semi wrapped – but once I have all my gifts I’m going to wrap them all of and not have to worry about anything. It’s going to take me while like I said before since I work for the stupid City of Brampton and we get paid just above min wage.

Christmas tree! Now a view years ago I went to Ikea with my sister and there was a mini tree on sale, I thought it was so cute and I was buying stuff for when I move out at the time. I told my mum that this year we should set up both trees, the only problem was for my tree I had nothing to put on it. So yesterday my mum took me to the mall and bought all the decorations to put on my tree. It actually looks cool – well I think it does. I made the tree have all outdoor things on it so, racoons, foxes, moose, deer, wood, red and black things. It just looks cool to me. I didn’t want to have a girly tree espically if I move out with my boyfriend.

Alright, xbox one came out Friday night/morning. Let me just tell you what I did for my boyfriend to get this xbox. I worked open to close on Thursday, that’s 645a-930p and I was up at 545a. After work my boyfriend picks me up, brings me to his house and I shower. We then go get food, and eat it in the parking lot with his brother and friend. We watched walmart close then we go get our chairs and sat outside the doors for 8 hours straight. They weren’t selling them until 7am and there was only 12 xboxs. I must say it was pretty fun, we have 7 people there just chilling outside the doors all night. I was up for 24 hours straight which I have no idea how I did but I did it! I tweeted, “Up for 24 hours straight and sat in line for 8 hours for Xbox One #thingsIdoformyboyfriend.” I am honestly the best girlfriend ever and did I mention that I paid for it! Yup. I’m awesome. 

MIA/Pumpkins and Halloween

I’ve been crazy busy with life lately and I haven’t really had a time to just sit down and write/blog. I’m either working, trying to see my boyfriend (which is hard lately), doing things for my mum or figuring out all this Christmas shopping that I need to get a head start on. 

Work has been crazy busy and stupid because of my boss and some parents; I already wrote about that in my previous post. My boyfriend got a second job so now it’s even harder to see each other but were making it work, since I’m home all the time when I’m not working I’ve just been trying to get shit done so my mum isn’t so stressed. 

For some reason this year I’ve been getting excited about Christmas and getting everyone gifts, today I bought my first gift! I’m actually proud of myself because I’ve never started my shopping this early but since Halloween is over I can now start. All the stores are going to have their Christmas stuff out. 

Now for Halloween I didn’t get to go to a party or anything because both my boyfriend and I are broke and we had to work at night. Which is okay because I dressed up as a cat for the pool, but before I went to work I had a big break in between my shifts, so I told my sister to get pumpkins and we’ll carve them. Ever since we stopped going out for candy be just made the pumpkin thing a big deal. We normally cheat and print of something on the internet to carve out but this year we decided to go free hand. We could look at the internet for inspiration but then we had to draw it out on our own. 

My sister’s first one was bad, it was suppose to be a raven but it ended up looking like a chicken. So she just turned it around and started over to get this….

I decided to draw something on my own sort of. I drew it on a napkin first then I carefully drew it out on the pumpkin, it actually took my so long to draw it on cause I really wanted it to turn out nice. I ended up with this….

Now it wasn’t suppose to come out looking cute but it did and I like it that way. I was going to do diamonds at the bottom but I thought that would be too much so I didn’t. 

My sister and I make pumpkin carvings a competition every year, so please tell me which one you like better. 1 being the first pictures and 2 being the second picture!
